However, it may result in lower wettability of the tablet, slower disintegration, and slower or even lower dissolution of the drug.

In the production of pressed candies, magnesium stearate acts as a release agent and is used to bind the sugars in hard candies such as mints.

Is magnesium stearate natural or synthetic?

Is stearic acid a natural ingredient?

SA is naturally found in animal fats, especially pork fats, and certain plants that contain fats/oils. These sources are heated and pressurized to separate and remove stearic acid.
